As part of European Robotics Week 2012 in November, the Science Gallery hosted an evening of robotics where Ireland’s most exciting roboticists showcased research to the general public. CLARITY postdoctoral researcher Sameh Abdel-Naby and PhD student Anara Sandygulova were there to present the EU FP7 project RUBICON. RUBICON (for Robotic UBIquitous COgnitive Network) aims to create a self-learning robotic ecology, consisting of a network of sensors, effectors and mobile robot devices. Anara and Sameh are pictured below showing a demo to Minister for Research and Innovation Sean Sherlock.
