CLARITY @DCU Sports Summer Camp

Every Tuesday over a period of six weeks in July and August, squash courts at the DCU Sports Centre are transformed into a wonderland of interactive games, courtesy of CLARITY.

Submitted by bkelly on Fri, 16/07/2010 - 08:51.Noel O'Connor, Philip Kelly, Dave Monaghan and Mark Gowing gave an overview of three of the demonstrator projects that CLARITY is involved in as part of the EU FP7 3DLife Network of Excellence on the 14th July.
The projects are:
CLARITY and CNGL at ESOF 2010
Submitted by bkelly on Sat, 03/07/2010 - 13:11.CLARITY and CNGL are exhibiting at Science in the City as part of the Euroscience Open Forum 2010 (ESOF 2010). Both centres were selected from many different research centres across Europe to exhibit at this prestigious outreach event. The Euroscience Open Forum 2010, taking place in Turin from the 2-7 July, is one of the most important events for showcasing scientific research.
Best paper award at Body Sensor Network 2010

The Dr. Ahmed Elsaify Memorial Award for Best Paper at the recent Body Sensor Network 2010 (BSN2010) Conference in Singapore was awarded to a paper written by CLARITY researchers including Kim Lau (pictured above with the award), a postdoctoral researcher working as part of Professor Dermot Diamond’s team in DCU.
World Cup "Twanslation" service featured in the Sunday Times
Submitted by bkelly on Tue, 08/06/2010 - 13:26.The CNGL / CLARITY Twanslator:World Cup 2010 project was featured in the Sunday Times(6th June). This project is being co-ordinated by Professor Andy Way of CNGL, and is an attempt to filter the information systems on Twitter during the World Cup into a number of different languages and overlay sentiment analysis techniques to create match summaries.
