Mr. Matthew Patterson
The line of research that I will focus on will be the development of a wearable sensor system that provides useful feedback on a variety of sporting and rehabilitation movements. The result of this work will be motion-sensor based solutions that help people heal faster, perform better and live healthier lives.
I have worked the last 5 years developing feature extraction algorithms from IMUs placed on the human body. I have also worked closely with end users to determine what data they want to view and how they want to interact with it. I was a lead developer of the inForm Sport Training System and consulted for MSB Solutions and CSC Pacific.
I graduated from the University of Waterloo in Canada with a BSc in 2002 where I focused on biomechanics.
