CLARITY deputy director gives keynote speech at Semantic Web Conference

Professor Alan Smeaton recently gave a keynote presentation at the 6th European Semantic Web Conference in Heraklion, Crete, on "Video, Semantics and the Sensor Web". The talk presented a snapshot of some of the current projects underway in CLARITY which contribute to the proposition of the sensor web. Professor Smeaton described lifelogging, tennis, cycling and environmental water quality monitoring as examples of sensor web, and presented summary of approaches taken to identify the presence or absence of groups of semantic features, in video.
